Hello all!
With a great deal of caution and finger-crossing and knocking-on-wood, I have a happy announcement to share. The team has been working very hard and we now have information on our Drive-in Book Tour.
A few things before we get into the details:
For this to work and keep everyone safe and healthy, please follow ALL of the safety guidelines the bookstores and drive-ins have laid out for you. A few basics… Follow your state’s rules about travel and crossing state lines. You should skip this if it would require you to stay overnight away from home. Do not attend the event with people outside of your household—wave to your friends from the safety of your car! Wear a mask if you have to leave your car. Be patient and courteous to the wonderful staff who will be running the events. Basically, let’s not any of us be Typhoid Mary, please!
We need to give a HUGE THANK YOU to the bookstores, drive-ins and Little Brown for working tirelessly to help make all of this happen. It has not been easy, but everyone has been determined create a fun and safe event for you, even as rules have been changing hourly.
If you don’t live in one of the states where we are doing a drive-in event, it’s going to be okay! I’m doing virtual events as well! There is a full list of where I’ll be and when at the end of this post.
Okay… detail time. All subject to change, obviously:
On Friday, August 7th I’ll be at the Skyline Drive-in Theatre in Shelton, WA with Ballast Book Company for a socially distanced, in-person Q&A followed by a screening of the Twilight film. *If all goes as planned, you’ll be able to ask me questions from your car and we can share some safe and masked fun.
Get all the details on tickets and rules at Ballast Book Company’s site!
On Saturday, August 8th the amazing bookstore, An Unlikely Story, will be hosting a Drive-in event with the Rustic Drive-In Theatre in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. I really wanted to be there in person, but travel restrictions are keeping me from attending. However, I will be there with you virtually and you’ll be able to ask all your Midnight Sun questions in real time via Instagram Live, and then watch the movie. Make sure you have Instagram on your phones!

*Technology Disclaimer: I’m told that the tech side of these events will be “easy” and that “even a child can do it” but I’m making no promises other than I WILL TRY.
