Here is a special announcement from Stephenie for those planning on attending Stephenie's event in Salt Lake City on Saturday:
Due to time restrictions with the venue for Saturday's event with King's English, I'm going to get to the event early to start signing books. This will make sure that everybody gets their book signed. See the new schedule below, but don't worry if you can't make it early, everything will still be the same starting at 1pm, this is just for people who want their books signed early and they can leave after my talk. Please remember, you MUST have a ticket to this event (which is already sold out)!
Saturday, May 17
10:30 a.m. Doors open at the venue
11:30 a.m. Early signing starts (Signing numbers you received from King's English still apply. Groups will be called by number).
1:00 p.m. Presentation begins
After presentation, regular signing starts (we will start the signing groups over at the beginning — you can not come through the line twice, your autographing number will be marked on your way through).
Don't worry — everybody with a ticket will get their books signed!

Also, I will quickly mention that the people at TwilightTeez.com wanted me to post a link to a recent blog entry about Bella's engagement ring [their blog is currently down... The Host has arrived! I have already received dozens of emails from people who have finished the book and loved it as much as I did. If you haven't already, click here to order The Host on-line or go to your nearest bookstore. I am very confident that you won't be disappointed.
Also, Elizabeth wanted me to let everyone know that the schedule of the Glenn Beck show has been changed and Stephenie's interview will now air on Thursday, May 8th. If you are not able to catch the show, we will link to his site if he posts the interview there.
Finally, as many of you have already seen, Summit Entertainment has released a trailer for Twilight the movie. Click here to view the trailer on myspacetv.com.

Elizabeth (Stephenie's publicist) just sent me some great news to post:
- First, Stephenie has been selected as one of TIME MAGAZINE's 100 Most Influential People of 2008! This is fantastic news and a fairly amazing accomplishment (in my opinion).You can click here to go to time.com to read Orson Scott Card's essay on Stephenie.
- Also, you can watch Stephenie on The Glenn Beck Show on Tuesday, May 6th for the release of The Host. Glenn Beck's show airs three times a day on CNN Headline News — check your local listings.
While I am updating this page, I thought I should mention that The Host comes out in five days! As many of you know, I am a very big fan of Stephenie's newest novel (I even dared to say that it is my favorite yet), and because of that I had planned on writing a great review. Although I'm sure it has been highly anticipated, I don't think it's going to happen. It becomes very apparent that one has no idea how to write a book review when the first line is: "The Host is really, really good." So, I decided to provide links to a few reviews that were able communicate their ideas better than me:
I am excited for it to come out, because I know that people will like it as much as I did. Check out TheHostNovel.com. It is a cool website made by Hachette Book Group (the publishing company) that is all about The Host. It has a book trailer video, banners to add to your sites and blogs, and links to their forum and a Q & A with Stephenie. The wait is almost over — only 12 more days!

We have re-styled the home page in anticipation for the release of The Host on May 6, 2008. You will find the same style on our recently-updated The Host page as well as a few other pages. Thank you to Pancho Meyer for the awesome panoramic picture up above and several other images on The Host page which will give everyone a feel for the setting of most of the novel. We are getting very excited for the release which is now less than one month away!
Two more things:
- Here is a link to a video clip on ETonline.com showing a behind-the-scenes look of Twilight the movie
- Please remember that this website is an informational website about Stephenie Meyer and her novels. I have received hundreds of emails asking (and begging, demanding, etc.) for updates. I promise that I will update the site whenever Stephenie or her publicist ask me to. Of course this means that there are fewer updates than the fansites, but you can be sure that the updates on this site are coming from Stephenie. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up... we will be announcing The Host tour information early Thursday morning (the 13th). It will be on the calendar page as early as I can wake up (I'm not making any promises of exact times). Elizabeth, Stephenie's publicist, added that "it might also be good to remind everybody that tickets are required for all the events and many of the locations will begin selling tickets on Thursday. All the information on acquiring tickets and event guidelines will also be included in the announcement." Good luck!
While I'm here, I should add that the TwilightTeez.com web admin has asked me to let everyone know that, due to heavy traffic, they are having some server problems right now. They are working hard to get the site back on-line and it will be up as soon as possible.

I have one main announcement and then I want to answer a couple of questions that have been emailed to me several times.
- The announcement is that Twilight Teez has posted the designs of the shirts from the Character Slogan Contest that we had on our site a few months ago. They are available for purchase.
- Many people have asked about Eclipse Special Edition
. As we have already posted, the difference is that it will contain both the cover art and the first chapter of Breaking Dawn, both of which will be revealed for the first time when the special edition is released on May 31, 2008. While the cover art will probably be on the site soon after that, we will most likely not be given permission to post the first chapter on our site. If we are given permission, it will probably be about one week before the release date.

Two items to discuss. The first and most important is a note from Elizabeth, Stephenie's publicist: "We"ll be announcing Stephenie's tour schedule for The Host during the week of March 10th. The tour will kick-off on May 6th, the publication date for The Host, and will run through the month of May. Stephenie will be visiting Minneapolis, Kansas City, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, Portland, Los Angeles and San Diego. All events will be ticketed and we will post the complete tour schedule, including how to obtain tickets, the week of March 10th. Please note, Stephenie will not be doing a large tour for Breaking Dawn, so if she is in your city for The Host you should take this opportunity to see her now!"
The second item I wanted to mention is that you can now pre-order Eclipse Special Edition

I have posted the entire Breaking Dawn press release on the Breaking Dawn page.
Many of you may have noticed the site loading slowly (or not at all) over the last couple of days. As with our previous problems, it is due completely to extremely high amounts of traffic. Yesterday, we had more visits to the site in one day than we have ever had on stepheniemeyer.com. To prevent poor site performance in the future, we switched to a new fully dedicated server (with no down time... *webmaster bows*) that seems to be working very well. So, hypothetically speaking, if we were to announce several of the actors that are part of the cast of Twilight the movie in the next few days, there shouldn't be any problems with getting on the site and viewing their official photos.

I posted a link to an interview that Kristen Stewart (the actress who will play Bella in Twilight the movie) did about Twilight on the movie page.
Also, the release date for Breaking Dawn (the fourth book in the Twilight series) will be announced at 12:01am EST on February 7th. I don't promise to have the site updated in that exact minute, but when you wake up on Thursday morning you will be able to find the release date and information about pre-ordering Breaking Dawn on this page or on the RSS feed. So, you can consider this an announcement about an announcement. Don't forget to check back in a couple of days!

I just wanted wish everyone happy holidays!
Also, I think it may be important to remind everyone that Stephenie had nothing to do with the casting decisions for the movie (I did not have any part in that decision either. I thought that was pretty clear, but apparently not.). The pictures that we have on our site were sent to us by the movie production company as official photos. If you don't like them, I am very sorry and I encourage you to look at their other pictures on different websites.
Another note: many of Stephenie's devoted fans have asked me if there is a better way to stay up-to-date on news than navigating through every page on the site every day. Every time that I update the website I will add an entry to this page (with the exception of the Fansites page). Also, the best way to make sure you do not miss anything is to subscribe to the RSS Feed. I don't know of any updates that are coming soon, but I promise that I will post updates as soon as I get them.
I hope that answers a few questions. Once again, Happy Holidays! Everyone please be safe, especially those who are travelling.
